Local Cost Share Programs Dead Animal Removal Program - Woodford County now has a Dead Animal Removal program starting October 1, 2010. The program will be funded by the Woodford County Fiscal Court, Woodford County Ag Development Council, grants obtained by the Woodford County Conservation District and other proceeds obtained from local farm groups. Woodford County Conservation District will be administering the program. Click here for the guidelines of the program.
Rock Gateway Program - The Woodford County Conservation District has set aside funds for a Rock Gateway Program. A wet season often results in our gateways being excessively rutted and eroded. The purpose of the program is to help Woodford County farmers with the necessary means to repair gateways in order to reach an area of the farm that makes it difficult for animals or machinery to cross the majority of the year. Signup is between October 4th thru October 15th, 2010 (office will be closed Oct. 11th). There is a limited amount of funds set aside for this program and approval will be on a first come-first serve basis subject to the Conservation District Board of Supervisor's review. It will be limited to one gateway per farm owner per year. Click here for application and more information (Microsoft Publisher version) and PDF version click here. Woodford County's Phase I Cost-share is available through the Woodford County Cooperative Extension Office. Go to http://ces2.ca.uky.edu/woodford/ for more information.
